49 days since setting sail from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, Mo O’Brien has now officially become the first deaf[1] person to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
deaf – people who have severe hearing impairments; “many of the deaf use sign language” lip reader – someone who can understand spoken words by watching the movements of a speaker’s lips. deaf-and-dumb person, deaf-mute, mute – a deaf person who is unable to speak.
