Stem cell biologist Hiromitsu Nakauchi has secured a significant milestone in his persistent pursuit of human-animal embryo experiments. After more than a decade of planning, Nakauchi has obtained approval from Japan, a country willing to navigate the ethically controversial realm of human-animal embryo research. While other nations have restricted or banned such practices, Japan has now officially permitted not only the transplantation of hybrid embryos into surrogate animals but also their development to term.
