The UK meteorological service issued a rare “red weather” warning as Strom Arwen brought wind gusts which killed 2 people. “Storm Arwen” — which hit the region late Friday, killing three people — initially knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of homes following wind gusts of almost 100 miles per hour. By Wednesday morning, engineers had reconnected 97 percent of the properties, but around 30,000 were still without power, the Energy Networks Association (ENA) said.
