Most of Pakistan’s high peaks are located in the Karakoram range, the highest of which is K2 (8,611 metres (28,251 ft)), the second-highest peak on earth. K2 ie located on the China-Pakistan border between Baltistan, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China.
