Syed Mehdi Shah was the first Chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The post was created under Presidential Order For Govrnance 2009 for Gilgit Baltistan and First Leglastive assembly came into being and Mehdi Shah was elected as chief minister of province Gilgit Baltistan. He also served as the President of Gilgit-Baltistan chapter of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman was 2nd Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and also leader of Pakistan’s conservative political party PML-N, in Gilgit-Baltistan. He served in office from 26 June 2015 to 23 June 2020 .

Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan is a Pakistani politician who is the current Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He has been a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly since 25 November 2020. He is the 3rd Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan
