Shaybah ibn Hashim (Arabic: شَيْبَة ٱبْن هَاشِم; c. 497–579), better known as Abd al-Muttalib, (Arabic: عَبْد ٱلْمُطَّلِب, lit. ‘Slave of Muttalib’) was the fourth chief of the Quraysh tribal confederation. He was the grandfather of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
