A. Umar Farooque (R.A)
B. Hamza bin Abdul Mattalib (R.A)
C. Khalid bin Waleed (R.A)
D. None of these
Hazrat Hamza bin Abdul Mattalib (R.A) was awarded with the title of “The lion of Allah”.
His name was Hamzah ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib ibn Haashim ibn ‘Abd-Manaaf ibn Qusayy ibn Kilaab ibn Murrah ibn Ka’b ibn Lu’ay ibn Ghaalib ibn Fihr ibn Maalik ibn An-Nadhr ibn Kinaanah. He was nicknamed ‘the Lion of Allaah’, and he was the uncle and foster brother of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
According to the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them it was Hamzah ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib may Allaah be pleased with him who was nicknamed ‘the Lion of Allaah’.
When the above name is mentioned, it refers to Hamzah may Allaah be pleased with him. However, there are many ‘lions of Allaah’, who fought for the sake of Allaah The Almighty, and there is no doubt that ‘Ali may Allaah be pleased with him was one of them. He was known for his bravery and strength, but the above expression (i.e. ‘the Lion of Allaah’) does not refer to him but to Hamzah may Allaah be pleased with him as we already mentioned.

Hazrat Ali a.s is the Lion of Allah, no one awarded as lion of allah but Ali a.s because all islamic war were conquered by Mola Ali a.s when all other so called sahabas ran off, leaving Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w. Alone and Mola Ali a.s was the one who always stand with Nabi Akram s.a.w.w. And that’s why Allah gave Zulfiqar (the two headed sword) to Mola Ali and Jibrael (The Grand Angel) said about Mola Ali a.s “La fatah Illa Ali, La saif illa Zulfiqaar” (There is no one who conquer Ali a.s, There is no sword like Zulfiqaar).
Hazrat Hamza bin Abu-Mutalib (R.A) is called AsadUllah meaning Lion of Allah (شیر خدا) whereas Hazrat Ali bin Abi-Talib (R.A) has the title of Haider-e-Karrar (حیدر کرار) meaning an aggressive lion which attacks again and again. The said question is about “The Lion of Allah”, so the answer must be Hazrat Hamza bin Abu-Mutalib (R.A).
The TRUE lion of Islam, as told by Prophet Muhammed is ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib
and I am leaving with you two weighty things. As long as you hold onto them both, you will never go astray,” said Muhammad, the Messenger of God.
Someone from the crowd then called out, “…O Messenger of God, what are the two weighty things?”
Prophet Muhammad then stated, “The Book of God (the Qur’an) – a connection between God and you – so hold onto it; and the other is my family (Ahl al-Bayt)… Indeed, (God,) the All-Attentive, the All-Aware, has told me that these two will not separate until they reach me at the pond (in heaven)…”
The Messenger of God then took the hand of ‘Ali, raised it for everyone to see, and declared three times, “…So for whomever I am the Leader, ‘Ali is the Leader.”
For whomever trusts Ahl al-Bayt will be rewarded by Allah, for on Prophet Muhammed’s Death Bed he raised Imam Ali’s hand and shouted over everyone and said for if I am your leader, Imam Ali will be your leader
