The correct answer to the question: "Which one of the following is the main culprit in the thinning of Ozone layer in the earth’s stratosphere?" is "Chlorofluorocarbons".

kindly give details of above question in my eyes and according to readings, CFC is considered as main culprit of destroying ozone layer.
By comparing the ozone depletion potential-weighted anthropogenic emissions of N2O with those of other ozone-depleting substances, we observe that N2O emission currently is the single most important ozone-depleting emission and is expected to remain the largest throughout the 21st century. N2O is unregulated by the Montreal Protocol. Limiting future N2O emissions would enhance the recovery of the ozone layer from its depleted state and would also reduce the anthropogenic forcing of the climate system, representing a win-win for both ozone and climate.

thanks dear javed. answer updated in Quiz
According to New York Times article in collaboration with EPA “the main culprit for Ozone depletion is Nitrous oxide” while the depletion in Ozone above Antarctica was due to CFC. It’s confusing. Can anyone/admin confirm it and update…. Thanks
