B. 9.98%
C. 16.20%
D. 14.50%

Solution by Ahmad hassan :

Actually, the question is this.

If a person sells his car in 50000 rupees and got 17% profit. What will be the profit in percentage if he sold this car in 47000 rupees?

Solution
Profit = 17 %
Sp of car = Rs 50000
Cp = sp/1 + .profit percentage
Cp = 50000/1+.17
Cp= 50000/1.17= Rs 42735.04

Now he wants to sell at Rs 47000
New sp = Rs 47000
Profit sp-cp = 47000-42735.04 = Rs 4264.96
Profit % = profitx100/cp
Profit % = 4264.96×100/42735.04 = 9.98 %
New profit % = 9.98

Solution by Vicky :

total sold price with 17% profit =50,000 (Including 17% profit)
now lets break this 50,000
50,000=X(original cost of car)+0.17x(17% profit) :- x is supposed cars original price
50,000=x+0.17x
x=50,000/1.17 (By taking x common)
x=42,735 (which is Original cost of car)
now again his is selling his damn car at Rs 47,000, that means his profit this time will be
47,000-42,735(original amount of car we just calculated above)=4265 (profit this time)
now calculate the percentage of this above calculated Profit with simple formula

4265/42735*100= 9.98% (Answer) cheers

    Plz ise brief kren

    1. Car Sold for Rs.50000 and there is included 17% Profit also. Therefore first we need to find the separate amount of Profit
      =50000*17/117
      = 7265 is Profit (That is included in Amount of Sales Rs 50000/-)
      As we know that
      Cost Price + Profit = Sales
      Cost+7265=50000
      Cost = 50000-7265 =Rs.42735

      New Sales Price is Rs.47000
      Sales – Cost = Profit
      47000-42735=4265

      profit in % =4265/42735*100
      =9.98% (Answer)

      1. Firt of all to find the orignal price of car where he got 17 percent profit 17 percent profit mean he got 8500 profit from 50000.now subtract the 8500 from 50000 it become 41500 the car orignal price is 41500 ..now he is selling the car for 47000.subtract the 41500 from 47000 it become 5500 that is the profit of 47000 selling …now divid the 5500 to 47000 we will got 11.7 percent answer is 11.7

          1. 50000*17/100=8500 profit
            Sales – profit = cost price
            50000 – 8500 = 41500 cost price,
            I I want to sale 47000
            New sale price – cost price = profit
            47000 – 41500 = 5500
            5500 * 100 / cost price
            5500 * 100 / 41500 = 13.25 % is answer….

        1. Exactly my calculation. He may have misunderstanding on whether to divide it by 117 or 100. As per percentage it should be divided by 100

    2. let us suppose x is the original price of the the car.
      then
      x + 0.17x = 50000
      or
      x( 1 + 0.17 ) = 50000
      or
      x ( 1.17 ) = 50000
      or x = 50000 / 1.17

      now x + y% of x = 47000
      or
      x ( 1 + y% ) = 47000
      or
      ( 1 + y% ) = 47000 / x
      or
      ( 1 + y% ) = ( 47000 * 1.17 ) / 50000
      or
      ( 1 + y% ) = ( 47 * 1.17 ) / 50
      the answer to the multiplication of 47*1.17 = 54.99 which is approx 55
      so
      ( 1 + y% ) = 55/50
      or
      ( 1 + y% ) = 1.1
      y% = 1.1 – 1
      y% = 0.1
      y = 10%
      now due to the approx value we took the result nearest to 10% is 9.98% which is the correct answer.

      hope you understand

      1. If the original price is 41500 and we sold it for 47000 according to second case,then 10 pc of 41500 is already equal to 4150 and we have a profit of 5500,so 5500 is more than 4150,so the answer can never be less than or equal to 10 pc

      2. Great…
        What is this method called…?
        I think this is a Ratio Proportion question…
        i.e.
        => 50,000 : 17 : : 47,000 : x
        => 50,000 x = 47,000 * 17
        => x = 47,000 * 17 / 50,000
        => x = 15.98 %

        Isn’t this a right way…?

    1. formula is selling price * 100 and divided by 100+17 because of 17 % profit we gain but we don’t know that what is actual cost price… ok

    2. asal ma iss question ma jo actual cost hai us k sath plus ma profit dono ek sath deye hai or hum usko 17/100 consider nhi kersakte q k unho ne question ju sold value de hai wo 17 percent actual cost se zyada kaha hai tu ab wo 100 percent nhi rahi bulke 100 percnt + 17 percent=117 % ab total 117% se 50000 ka 17% nikale ge ….. iss ma swal smjha zarori hai k aya wo kis tareeqe se kya mang raha hai . 50000*17/117=7264.96

  3. kindly request to pak mcqs admin please give appropraite answer of this question please because we got answer
    11 something

  4. Let suppose x is the cost price of car so,
    X+0.17x=50000
    1.17x=50000
    X=50000/1.17
    X=42735.04

    If car is sold on price 47000
    The profit would be,
    47000-42732.04=4264.96

  5. Actually, the question is this.

    If a person sells his car in 50000 rupees and got 17% profit. What will be the profit in percentage if he sold this car in 47000 rupees?

    Solution
    Profit = 17 %
    Sp of car = Rs 50000
    Cp = sp/1 + .profit percentage
    Cp = 50000/1+.17
    Cp= 50000/1.17= Rs 42735.04

    Now he wants to sell at Rs 47000
    New sp = Rs 47000
    Profit sp-cp = 47000-42735.04 = Rs 4264.96
    Profit % = profitx100/cp
    Profit % = 4264.96×100/42735.04 = 9.98 %
    New profit % = 9.98

  6. If sold for Rs. 50,000 Profit = 17%
    If sold for Rs. 47,000 =>
    17%
    50000
    * 47000
    = 15.98%

  7. First we need to find the original price for which he got 17% profit.
    17/100×50000=8500
    50000-8500=41500 original price

    Now: 47000-41500=5500
    5500/41500*100=13.25%

  8. there are two types of profit..one on cost price and one on sale price…if sale price is given then u must divide it by 117..and if cost price is given then go for 100. here it is sale price there fore it should be 117

  9. bahi ek seedi bat hai ky .. aga ny car ko 50000 ma bycha to profit 17 % aya na ky 50000 ky sath 17% profit aya hai ,,, agr 50000 ky sath 17% profit aya hai to 50000 us ky cost prize ho jati hai.
    question khalit hai ….

  10. Guys stop fighting, let me clarify and break down this bullshit for you.
    total sold price with 17% profit =50,000 (Including 17% profit)
    now lets break this 50,000
    50,000=X(original cost of car)+0.17x(17% profit) :- x is supposed cars original price
    50,000=x+0.17x
    x=50,000/1.17 (By taking x common)
    x=42,735 (which is Original cost of car)
    now again his is selling his damn car at Rs 47,000, that means his profit this time will be
    47,000-42,735(original amount of car we just calculated above)=4265 (profit this time)
    now calculate the percentage of this above calculated Profit with simple formula

    4265/42735*100=9.98% (Answer) cheers

  11. if a person sell his car in 50000 rupees and got 17% profit.what will be the profit in percentage if he he sold this car in 47000 rupees
    solution
    profit =17 %
    sp of car = Rs 50000
    cp =sp/1+.profit percentage
    cp 50000/1+.17

    cp= 50000/1.17= Rs 42735.04
    now he wants to sell at Rs 47000
    new sp= Rs 47000
    profit sp-cp =47000-42735.04= Rs 4264.96
    profit %= profitx100/cp
    profit%=4264.96×100/42735.04=9.98 %
    new profit %=9.98

  12. (Sale price-original price)/ original price=profit%
    Using above equation
    (50000-x)/x=.17
    Original price=x=42735
    Now
    (47000-42735)/42735=9.98%

  13. the question is not fully described. is the profit charged on selling price or on cost? therefore, there is a misunderstanding.

  14. 9.98

    50000/117% = 427.35x 100 = 42375 is actual cost of the car now minus 47000-42375= 4265 is the Total profit 4265/427.35= 9.98%

  15. This question is wrong.
    Because if car is sold for 50000, and the profit is 17% . So the original price is 41500. But 17% of original price is 7055 . 41500+7055=48555.
